Your Safari to Selous Game Reserve can start from Zanzibar. The Selous Game Reserve boasts Tanzania’s largest population of elephant as well as a large number of lions, leopard, African hunting dogs, buffalo, and hippo. Species commonly seen are bushbuck, red and blue duikers, eland, hartebeest, hyena, giraffe, oryx, reedbuck, impala, waterbuck, and zebra. The park has the most extensive diversity of safari activities ranging from Romantic Boat Safari along the Great Rufiji River, legendary fly camping trips, walking, and compliment standard game driving in thriving wildlife areas.

Your stay during this south Tanzania safari to Selous is at Lake Manze Camp, located on the Selous richest areas of wildlife, nestled on the shores of Lake Manze which has its name. The Camp has been constructed with careful regard to the impact it makes on the environment. All the tents are situated well in the shade of stands of doum palms and other trees. When viewed from the boat, it is hardly possible to see the camp at all, as it is so well hidden. So come and explore Africa’s wildlife with us!

Day 1:

Arrival & Selous Game Reserve Safari

Lake Manze Camp or Similar Accommodation

Depart from Zanzibar airport with a flight to Selous game reserve at 0800hrs arriving at 0915hrs, upon your arrival at Siwandu Airstrip; you will be met by our driver/guide and start game drive en route to the camp for check-in and a delicious lunch, Afternoon you will depart for an adventurous and romantic sunset boat safari along the great Lake Manze with the chance of spotting hippo, crocodile and a variety of birds as you enjoy the spectacular sunset. You will later return for dinner and overnight at Lake Manze Camp.

Day 2:

Safari in Selous Game Reserve & Return to Zanzibar/Dar es Salaam

Option 1:
Bush breakfast in the morning then proceed with a game drive. Your day will be filled with exploring the park’s wildlife from your seat on an open-sided or open-roofed vehicle. This comfortable and privileged journey through the wild African bush is a chance of a lifetime! You can expect to see many of the African mammals, including elephant, giraffe, lion, buffalo, zebra, and even the rare African wild dog. Picnic lunch provided toward airstrip departure from Siwandu to Zanzibar at 1250hrs.

Option 2:
Early morning breakfast then proceed with a game drive en-route towards the airstrip to depart at 0915hrs.
